The gentlemen that run Bizzarro were kind enough to let me attend the viewing party for the episode of Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives that featured their restaurant. Here's what happened.
And now, a clarification: The gentlemen that run Bizzarro were not among those who suggested the fourth "D" for the name of the show (as detailed in Bar Exam). Andrew Bray, one of the owners, said today on the phone that they were happy with how the restaurant was portrayed. (It did look magically great, under the kind of grazillion-watt lighting that makes most things look scary.) He was also fully comfortable with the photo of him wearing his Teatro Zinzanni tutu being shown on the Food Network: "That was fine—I’ve spent many a day in my tutu in front of lots of people."
If you want to catch the show, it's airing again on May 1st at 9 p.m., May 2nd at midnight, and May 10th at 3 p.m.
