Places You Can Go to Watch the Soccer Game Tonight

Posted by on Sat, Apr 18, 2009 at 5:07 PM

The Seattle blog Next Season Sports has some ideas about where you can go to watch the Sounders game tonight: Atlantic Crossing (in Roosevelt), the Dray (in Ballard), Fado (just north of Pioneer Square), Kell's (near the market), the George & Dragon (in Fremont), the Spitfire (in Belltown).

Left off that list, but also showing the game: Roanoke Tavern and Cafe Presse (both on Capitol Hill), Marco Polo (in Georgetown). If you know of more, put em in the comments...

They're playing Chivas USA in Carson, California. The P-I has a comparison of the two teams here. The Seattle Times reports that Ben Dragavon—remember him?—probably isn't going to be goalkeeping. King 5's coverage begins at 7 pm. Game's at 7:30 pm.

I'm sure they'll be watching it at Changes in Wallingford.

I love that place.

Thanks for this list. Its unreal how many sports bars aren't showing games or have no idea the Sounders even exist.

Has SLOG commented yet on the idea of sports teams being named after alcoholic drinks?

How about a bum wines ( http://www.bumwine.com ) minor league?

The Seattle Cisco's versus the Baltimore Thunderbirds...mmm...guess we got that already.

Why did you leave off the gay viewers party?

Waaiiiiiit, the Sounders are soccer? We have a soccer team?

Huh. Ok.

Who the hell do they play? Do other American cities have soccer teams? Like, professional ones?

Are we going to get a soccer stadium now?

I have so many questions.

I'd be surprised if Spitfire showed the game given there was a UFC fight tonight
