Boy Toy

Posted by on Thu, Apr 9, 2009 at 10:39 AM

Diya "Patrick" Lumumba, the man who was wrongly and deliberately fingered by Amanda Knox in the murder of her roommate, Meredith Kercher, was awarded 8,000 euros (about $10,500) in damages by the Italian government. This amount, however, is nowhere near what he demanded from the state, 670,000 euros.

"We consider this amount [8,000] unfair for all the damage he's suffered," [Lumumba's] lawyer Carlo Pacelli said. "In a second his image as a man, as a father and husband has been completely destroyed."
But is it fair to sue to the state in this case? Lumumba was, after all, detained for only two weeks and the charges were completely dropped. The person who deserves full blame for his losses, difficulties, and imprisonment is Amanda Knox.

From her statement to the police:

I want to tell you what happened because it’s left me really shocked and I’m terrified of Patrick, the African boy who owns the Le Chic pub where I work sometimes. I saw him on the evening of 1 November, after I replied ‘see you’ to his text message. We met at about 9 p.m. on the basketball court in Piazza Grimana and went to my place. I can’t remember if Meredith was already there or if she turned up later. What I can say is that they went into the bedroom

That "African boy" was 38 years old at the time of the crime.

Did she say that? Or did an Italian police officer say she said that? Are you sure "African boy" hasn't been translated into Italian and back into English? Because it sure sounds more like something that an Italian would say, rather than the daughter of a UW professor. Maybe I'm wrong. But this whole business has been so stage-managed by the notoriously corrupt Italian authorities it's hard to say anything for sure.

Well, she may have called him a boy, so clearly she's a racist. And if she's a racist, she must be a murderer.

Well spotted, Charles. I guess they can wrap the trial up early.

I agree with Fnarf that it sounds like something that was translated back from Italian to English. I interpret from Spanish to English all the time, and because it's verbal and I'm in a hurry to get the words out, it can sound weird sometimes.

Gay dudes are boys into their fifties, if they can pull it off.

Charles, your conclusion is so passe.

Ask DAN about all the gay boys - far from childhood or even the teens ....

Italy is the land of comic opera in ALL things , the courts and police are just a great big farce.

But a great place to eat, visit, and fuck.

A decades ago, very expensive, might be better now.

Go to Venice and Florence and Rome and more if you have time. Great hi ways, sorry Erica. La strada ...magnifico

Whether or not she actually said the word "boy" (and I can't speak on that - it does sound unusual coming from a Seattelite, but this woman is a psycho, so...), A. Knox makes me want to vomit. I am heartily sick of seeing her smug face. Thank you for not posting a pic.

Yeah, there probably will be a movie someday. Then I'll be heartily sick all over again.

Hey Muhdik, Africans were enslaved by other Africans in the first place, and Africa is the ONLY place on Earth where Africans are STILL enslaved today, in every black-run African country according to the UN, but they are enslaved by other blacks, so one never hears blacks and liberals whining about it like they do about everything else.

It just doesn't fit their agenda very well.

If you want to discuss rape of black women start in your own African communities. African countries have the most horrific rape/sexual violence situations of anywhere in in the world, by several orders of magnitude.

Fear of black rape has always been one of the prime motivators of -- and justifications for -- pig-ignorant racist bullshit. You're really in a panic, aren't you, dude? Why don't you go out and lynch someone? Oh, that's right -- you're a pussy.

"turned up later" also does not sound like something a 20-year-old woman from UW would say. (BTW - I went to UW and am in my early 20s) I can't imagine anyone I know saying "turned up later". It sounds British, maybe, or something someone older might say. I doubt this is a direct quote just based on that alone.

Black men hardly ever rape white women (or anyone, most of them). The ones that do rape black women. White women who are raped usually have white rapists.

@ 12, your first fucking mistake? you believe africa is one big country. but the only thing that links, for example, a nigerian with a malawian is the english language. your knowledge of africa is tragically weak. please, do some real research before you attempt make sense of the "dark continent." depending on white supremist websites is not the way to go, as they tend to avoid this complexity. use other information resources, and not just to justify what you already believe but to courageously see what is really going on there historically and sociologically.

finally, is there a human in the world who is not of african decent?

fnarf: the funny thing is that the rape stories from south africa were also sensationalized in zimbabwean papers. it was a way to seeing south africans as barbaric, and there was a reason for this type of seeing. in the 19th century, the zulus (from what is now south africa), violently occupied and ruled the shonas (in the area that is now zimbabwe). the british were not the first oppressors of shona people. it was actually the zulus. that legacy is at the root of the popularity of the sensational rape stories.

Yes - the only reason the west thinks of most Africans as barbaric rapists and murderers is because Zimbabwe newspapers printed SA rape stories. That makes tons of sense. Those racist African newspapers probably made up all those rape stories to make Africans look bad.

@26 -- aren't the Zulus (or Bantus) originally from further north, like what is now Nigeria, and conquered the aboriginal South Africans (Bushmen) in the century or two before the Brits, Dutch, Germans got there? My African history is weak.

32,443 whites raped or sexually assaulted by blacks, zero blacks raped or sexually assaulted by whites in only one year.

The table shows that most rapes of whites are by whites. 16.7% are by blacks. What's your fucking point?

Seriously, fuck. Go out and kill some black people. Go on, do it. You know you want to. Then you can sit in a fucking jail cell for the rest of your sorry life with the other losers who think just like you. Maybe you can get a swastika tattooed on your forehead. Then your cell buddies will really protect you in the yard.

Everyone knows that memes are impossible to resist and that they just emanate out of nowhere (you can't just make them up for your own reasons) and once their inherent flicker of truth infects you, you just can't disallow the charm of a meme. Memes are unchallengable and can even trump facts, as we see here.

Whoever said "rather than the daughter of a UW professor" -- where the hell did you get that? Amanda Knox is not the daughter of a UW professor. Incidentally, the friends and family of Knox have the annoying habit of referring to all people of color as "African Americans," no matter what part of the world they live in or hail from. Cute, isn't it?

@38, I thought she was. Sorry. I don't know why I thought that. The quote still sounds fishy -- and neither "boy" nor "African American" are evidence of murder.

Like I said, I don't have a clue if she did it or not. I know virtually nothing about the case, and everything I do know is filtered through the media and through the NOTORIOUS Italian criminal justice system. If Knox's parents had just paid the proper bribes, or used political connections, or managed to orchestrate a "communist" or "fascist" smear campaign (either will do), then she'd be free now.

For anyone who is interested in the facts behind the media spin, and who cares to learn more about the victim of this terrible murder - Meredith Kercher - there is an excellent discussion board

http://perugiamurderfile.freeforums.org/…

as well as an interesting blog

These online resources are not for profit. Anyone can read and/or participate and people from around the world do. They have followed this case since November 2007, and are in no way related to Amanda Knox. Nor are they her friends

@ 43: "If Knox's parents had just paid the proper bribes, or used political connections, or managed to orchestrate a "communist" or "fascist" smear campaign (either will do), then she'd be free now."

I'm not so sure. Her co-suspect Raffaele Sollecito has done just that, via his well-connected family, and it has not helped. In fact, in a separate matter some of his more audacious family members could be charged with the unlawful dissemination of a police video to a television station in their region. The family of the victim, Meredith Kercher, were shocked and dismayed to have horrific images of this poor victim exploited and have filed suit via their Italian lawyer.
One of the richest lawyers in Italy is now heading up Sollecito's defense, and she is also a member of parliament.

@ 41, the message board you refer to is for people who are interested in discussing this case, not for people who just want to spout off about guilt or innocence. I suspect it may be over your head. Incidentally, this board has 400 members from around the world and has compiled (and created) exhaustive records about the case. It welcomes anyone who knows how to be civil and who is interested in discussion rather than PR-driven talking points.
