Slog Happy Is This Week!

Posted by on Mon, Apr 6, 2009 at 11:13 AM

ea4a/1239041119-bluemoonsign.jpgSlog Happy! Thursday! At the Blue Moon!

And to celebrate Slog Happy, the Blue Moon will be offering $2.50 wells for all Slog commenters (even you mean ones)! Also, because this week kicks off the Blue Moon's 75th Anniversary celebration, the bar's got some great drink specials for their usual Happy Hour too (4:30-6:30 pm everyday)—75 cent schooners and $1.30 pints of Miller High Life.

And while the Blue Moon doesn't have much in way of food, Jason Josephes (Blue Moon booker and Slog commenter extraordinaire) says everyone is more than welcome to bring food to the bar to enjoy with their drinks! Just a few establishments within a half mile or so include: Araya's Vegetarian Place, Jack's Mainly Chinese Tapas, Chaco Canyon Cafe, and Which Which. Yum!

See you Thursday!

(The Blue Moon is right at 45th and Seventh in the University District, it's right on the 44 bus line.)

Trader Joe's is also nearby for those that just want something to grab and eat.

And PetCo is right across the street for those who want to bring an animal.

@Jessica:Hahaha for reals.

Also, everyone please be careful to avoid the douche-trap bar next to the Blue Moon. They pour out into the streets with their popped collars and visors. Beware.

@5 - No, he'll opt for the bar next door so he can hang with his peeps the meatheads. Backwards sunglasses, upside down, baby!!!

I don't know, it's too hard to go to a place so close to where I work ...

(grin)

Has anyone gone into that place next door?

And I agree about Trader Joe's. There's also a couple of places that sell donuts on 45th and are open for coffee and donuts 24 hours ... best ride from the hill is 49, or take 43 which gets you just about 3 blocks away I think.

And! Sloggers are welcome to stick around for the night's show which begins at 9. Wah Wah Exit Wound headlines, preceeded by Emeralds, Noxlords, and opening band The Luna Moth (featuring commenter levislade). A five-dollar value, yours absolutely free.

I look forward to meeting you all on Thursday.

There is also a Chipotle in the area, which is my guilty-pleasure of foodstuffs. (I blame Denver.)

@17 Ha! Excellent. But wouldn't it be more ergonomic to just strap drunk Lara to a dolly? Wouldn't that also be like 10 times more hilarious too?

I'm psyched. I missed the last one because I was broke and laid off. NOT THIS TIME.

I've never been to a Slog happy before and I'm excited/nervous.

Pagliacci is just a hop skip and a jump away as well. Thursday? Should be Verde Primo and CB/Pineapple aka Hawaiin aka Swine and Pine.

Want us to run something else that day?

Let me know!

@ 29 - Yes, yes it is. It shall rule all the days of this week, and the days of this week shall bow down in joyful submission to the Glory of the Day that is Thursday. And That Day shall dwell in the Golden Fields of the Calendar forever and ever, world without end.

Amen.
