Here are some other things that annoy me about baby stuff:
You can't get boy stuff that's not blue.
You can't get girl stuff that's not pink.
You can't get boy stuff that doesn't have dogs, dinosaurs, trucks, or trains on it.
You can't get girl stuff that doesn't have cats, flowers, ponies, or hearts on it.
I mean, yes, you can try to dress a girl in boys' things and vice versa to combat it all, but can't we just have some affordable lines of unisex chidlren's clothes that come in OTHER colors and without genderized chevrons emblazened on them?
The "London Flower" model comes with "A delicate row of Vanilla Fleurs with stitching details in Pink Strawberry. Sheer Ribbon Underlay and Bow (w/ Faux Pearl Drop in center) in Light Pink."
Very cute and apropos in our image-conscious modern world.
*barf*
My kids were routinely mistaken for the opposite sex as babies--hair/no hair, blue/pink/whatever, flowers&hearts/dinosaurs&trucks--and I could never bring myself to give a shit. I just didn't matter.
