Better Than Stewart-on-Cramer Action

Posted by on Wed, Apr 1, 2009 at 10:36 AM

I don't know which is more amazing: The way Stephen Colbert tears Glenn Beck a new asshole, or actually watching footage from Glenn Beck's show, which I'd never seen before. Network was modest in comparison to this guy.

The "liberal" NY Times ran a gushing puff piece on Beck just this week:

It is all fun and games until the lunatic fringe that supports this type of nonsense blows something up.
Mr Beck, when one of your white religious, hate-filled, gun toting, self-righteous nut job supporters kills Obama or starts shooting innocent people they have identified as one of "them" you will bear blame...and all hell really will break loose.

TIME TO BELIEVE

It's time to stop playing
Games in this country.
It is time to actually believe
In something. I do.
I know you do as well.
Believe in something.
Even if it's wrong.

LMFAO!!! Man, I am SO glad I read this today! I'd only ever heard *about* Beck before, but never actually seen him. Now I fear for the sanity of everyone who watches him.

glad he's on Faux News where he can be ignored, then mocked appropriately. Better that than in front of brain-dead parishioners, where he would rob them blind.

MEATBALLS AT THE FURNITURE STORE

Somebody said let's make Swedish meatballs at the furniture store
And somebody else said, that's a stupid idea; nobody's going to want meatballs at the furniture store.
And the first guy on that first day, his ass was on the line.
And so one customer came for lunch, he knew he had to get rid of the meatballs
And he was like, yeah, you want meatballs from the furniture store?
And they're like, yeah, I guess; my wife has been dragging them around forever.
Anything. Just whatever. I was thinking about eating an ottoman
A little while ago but then meatballs has actual meat in it
And then the guy behind the counter said, well, I'm not really sure
But ya, ya, sure. So then he takes the meatballs
And he has to put them on a huge plate
Because he has to get rid of them.
Otherwise, you know, the big Swede is going to say
That was the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
And so now that one fat guy who had the big bowl of meatballs
Now buys all of his furniture there and has told all of his fat friends,
Buy your furniture there because your wife will walk around
And you'll have an hour worth of eating meatballs
And that's what happened.

He reminds me a lot of Jim Baker at his peak. I'm talking about his delivery, not the hooker on his lap! WHAMMY!

Sorry.

FYI, Beck has the #2-rated show on all of cable television. He must be doing something right. (Betcha it's the magic underwear.)

#18 - that's interesting, if not horribly frightening, but I can't find anything to back int up outside of conservative blogs. Nielson breaks it down as having the top 20 almost entirely filled by USA Networks and Nickleodeon (WWE Raw, Hanna Montana, and SpongeBob always take the top spots).
