Jonah broke the story on Slog earlier this month in print last June, now major national news organizations—from FOX News to the Wall Street Journal—are getting in the ring with Seattle's embattled Semi-Professional Wrestlers.

I hope the department of licensing doesn't find out about the drive cabaret group I belong to. Seattle Semi-Pro NASCAR is simply a group of fun men and women who dress up in costumes and entertain people by pretending to be racecar drivers. We gather outside of bars and taverns wearing ridiculous costumes like "Dale Bananaheart" and "The Car-Driving Gorilla." Then we pretend to race down side streets at 150mph while people throw paint at us (we had to stop encouraging this when unruly fans started throwing oil slick).

I have heard the DOL might require us to hold our events in enclosed tracks with medical personnel present. Why would they do this? Don't they realize we are just having fun? If they do this, they will have to require all showings of "A Streetcar Named Desire" and all carnival bumper car rides to be held in enclosed tracks with medical personnel present. What a gross injustice. If they shut us down I'll have to move back to Alabama.

Accidental? WTF. Mr. Schmader you have obviously not been to an SSP show. The talent and storytelling these guys display is unbelievable. They got there by being one of the most entertaining things to do on a Wednesday. Or any other day for that matter. Tell me this isn't funny.
