Lost Open Thread

Posted by on Wed, Mar 25, 2009 at 8:00 PM

bb1c/1238015450-3350650142_1af3b90ce7.jpgDid Little Ben poison Sayid's sandwich?

How long before Kate totally fucks up Juliet's life?

Does Jack's Bobby Brady costume make him look just a little bit hot?

Will we ever get to see Sayid with facial hair again?

Why does the Charlotte continuity thing bug me so much?

Nama-whuh?

Discuss all these questions and more in this week's Lost open thread.

Little Ben could not possibly know who Sayid really is, so the only reason he would poison his sandwich would be to potentially kill a "hostile".

That little girl Faraday saw was not Charlotte, he just thought she was because he is grief-stricken.

I want to know what happened to Faraday, how Sun and Frank will travel back in time, how the hell Christian is seemingly alive, and where in the hell Claire went.

Kate fucks up the lives of everyone around her at all times, so it's already started.

Jack never looks hot.

Sayid, on the other hand...ditto on the facial hair.

Because Lost has spoiled an entire generation of people out of continuity error acceptance.

What I want to know is, what's with the chick standing behind Sun in the rec room? Claire? Or another error?

incorrect danhowes.

The little girl Farady saw IS Charolette. The age call out before was a slip up by the writers. Click the link in this article.

will Fnarf show up on the island and reveal his big, gay plan?

Little Ben was giving Sayid a sandwich because his dad is mean, and he saw his dead mom in the forest that led him to the Others. Little Ben thinks Sayid is an Other, and so Little Ben likes him.

If anybody fucks up Juliet's life, it will be Sawyer. Did you see how he looked at Kate? He Luuurrvvves her so bad.

Jack is always a lot hot. It was nice to see how gracefully he gave up his leadership responsibilities to Sawyer.

Christian is back to life because the island can bring people back to life if it wants to. It did it with Crazy Russian Mikhail twice, and now Locke. Or The Smoke Monster took Christian's form, as it did with Ecco's Priest brother.

There are a lot of ways for an actor to keep their job after their character dies on Lost.

What is this "open thread" crap? Why don't they just liveslog it for petes sake

And the great thing about the time travel is we get to go back to the time's when sayid has facial hair!

This season is such a letdown. Just get to the bit where the Others and the Survivors get together, breed, and 150,000 years later spawn New York City from their skinjob loins.

Tonite's episode sucked...it's time to kill off Sayid.

I'm already sick of Dharmaville.

The Charlotte age discrepancy bothers you?!?!? The ages of most of the characters doesn't make much sense...Ben's supposed to be early 40's?!?!?!? WTF?

More perplexing is what the hell happened to Matthew Fox's chest plummage...

And where the hell are Rose and Bernard and Vincent? Hangin'with Smokey?

@6 Lost cannot be liveslogged because of the crazy amount of concentration it takes to watch an episode. Look away from the t.v. for a few seconds and you've probably missed something.

They don't make their own supplies. It all comes from some mainland somewhere. Where ever that submarine goes?
Good ending. Don't believe Little Ben is dead though, of course. The island is weird like that.
I hate having to wait a week. Stupid cliffhangers. :p

@10 Don't be a hater, be a congratulator. This thread is about Lost. You are off topic and abusive. Is this your first day on the internets? Also, you should look up the word 'hypocrisy' so you can provide an example of of actual hypocrisy when you accuse someone of it.

@9 Dharma makes wine. They've been drinking it for years on the show.

&8 There can't be two Mitochondrial Eves, can there?

Speaking of open threads, there are soooo many loose ones, seemingly abandoned by the writers. They've lost control of their monster.

And, you pretty much have to suspend your expectation for believable reactions and normal motivations. Like, constantly. One small one: Sawyer is talking with Sayid, who is happily talking back, Sawyer offers to help him escape, and Sayid declines; Sawyer is confused, pointing out that he had previously wanted to escape; Sayid says, "not anymore. Now I know what I'm here for." At this point, instead of saying, "what's that?" Sawyer barks, "To get SHOT?!" and then leaves inexplicably -- before Sayid can answer (or not answer) -- to go ask the question of Kate. Geez, I'm just looking for some semblance of rational human behavior.

Funniest thing last wee was went Hurley entered the Dharma compound...did they have to "disguise" him? He looked totally at home in the 70s...the rest of them, Jack, Kate, always looked like they were transported from the early 90s set of Friends...even when they were supposedly from the 00s (but then very few people have defined the 00s so far...)

the arbitrary and contrary behavior is frustrating. if I found myself 30 years in the past I think I'd trust my friends who'd been there a while. jack was a dick about it too, like he is about everything.

I've liked the season so far though but time travel is a dangerous plot device. and no one drank merlot in the 70s right? that bothered me more than charlotte.

what the? This season they've answered or started to close multiple threads. They've even made references to "minor" things from season 1 that they probably could have abandoned without most people noticing.

@20 - Why do people who allegedly hate television always show up to comment on tv-related blogs? Are you on a crusade? Guess what: nobody gives a shit what you think.

Kate looked totally 70s.

But she's bad bad news.

I pity both Sawyer and Doc.
