Tomorrow, as part of a launch party for arty-culture-y website The Rumpus, there will be a screening and reading at Northwest Film Forum. The screening is for a film called Pig Hunt that is apparently a viciously gory movie that crosses Deliverance with Jaws. I'm not usually into movies that proudly proclaim how gory they are, but this one is co-written by Robert Mailer Anderson, who wrote a great debut novel called Boonville that I heartily recommend.
The reading part of the night is awesome local author Ryan Boudinot, who may or may not be reading from his debut novel which is due to be published by Grove Atlantic this fall. Boudinot will read before the film, and after the film, people will move down the street to Vermillion for a party. Anderson will be in attendance to answer questions about the film, too. This is clearly your best Tuesday night entertainment bargain.
