Made in America

This documentary is amazing, and I'm sorry not to be able to say more about it at the moment. More tomorrow. But in the meantime, beware: you only have a few chances to see it this weekend, including tonight at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. at Northwest Film Forum. This is not just another hand-wringing look at the gang problem in Los Angeles; it's a cultural excavation, powerfully executed and wonderfully narrated by Forest Whitaker. If you don't know what you're doing tonight, now you do.

I saw it at Sundance in 2008. It's one of the best documentaries I have ever seen.
