Call Me Next Week

Posted by on Wed, Mar 11, 2009 at 12:42 PM

In a phone interview today, Seattle Post-Intelligencer publisher Roger Oglesby said:

Hearst expects to announce a decision regarding the P-I at some point next week.

Close followers of the P-I end-date guessing game—which, in the absence of a clear signal from Hearst, has come to involve an odd mix of numerology, psychic inference, and complex planetary physics requiring a lunar azimuth—will note that next week brings the oft-mentioned date of March 18.

"An Appeal to the Citizens of Seattle" is the title of an ad on page A4 of today's print edition of the P-I.

John Burbank, Andy Gordon, Russ Lidman, Stan Sorscher and Janet Wainwright -- all citizens -- bought the ad. They're urging the public to help laid-off journalists create a post P-I by sending pledges to SeattlePostGlobe@yahoo.com.

Oh, hey, if you don't have plans for St. Patty's day, you can drop by the 43rd Dems - we'll have Guinness, Henry's, and other fine stuff for those of legal age.

We may have boring meetings, but you can still enjoy them ...
