Soldier Waging War at the War Room?

Posted by on Tue, Mar 10, 2009 at 5:39 PM

Seattle Police arrested a 25-year-old Everett man at the War Room nightclub on Capitol Hill Sunday morning after, a police report says, the man threatened security staff.

According to the report, man had threatened to shoot several staff members after they refused to let him in the club because he was "extremely drunk."

After staff denied the man entry, the report says, he clenched his fists, puffed out his chest and told club security he was "not too fucking drunk" and was "going to fuck [them] up."

"Do you how many Iraqi's I killed?" The man reportedly asked War Room staff. "I did two tours in Iraq."

Police did not find a gun on the man, and he was booked into the King County Jail for harassment.

@1

Please do not mock veterans. 300,000 veterans are out there with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Traumatic Brain Injury. Multiple tours greatly increase the chances of PTSD, and ongoing exposure to devastating explosions (IEDs) are leaving invisible scars. So yeah, now more servicemembers and veterans are killing themselves than are killed in combat. The VA is a nightmare bureaucracy which would stress out a sane person and were seeing more and more self medication. Hence this belligerent drunk. It's sad, but expect a lot more of this in years to come. Thanks Bush! Thanks Obama! Thanks America!

we don't give our military enough psyche support when they get back from doing our dirty work. I'd be pretty effed up, too. (More than I am now, I mean.)

A whole new generation of messed up veterans. Just what we need.

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing but sympathy for these folks. It's just so frustrating to see it happen yet again.

May not be a vet. In Vietnam time more than one drunk civilian tough guy lied. Either way, hope he gets what he needs.

#3 - pretty sure Obama voted against the war, and has inherited Bush's (and Hillary's, McCain's, etc.) mess.

@6,
Exactly! Strangelove was the very first thing I thought of too.

Going with @1 and @10 here. Lots more tough guys bragging about their war exploits than there are actual veterans out there.

Jonah, you could always act like a real reporter and find out for your readers if he was actually a veteran. Of course, that might undermine your original reasons for posting, so why bother?

I tried to date a war torn hero- and he was... but I couldn't. Post war trauma is real. However most Vets don't go out and tell everyone to suck my cock- Hey, I did it! Iraq was wrong, bringing it home doesn't make it better. This guy sounds like BS ,BTW.
