Reading Tonight

Open mic and three readings tonight.

Dr. Stephen Wangen reads at University Book Store. His book is Healthier Without Wheat: A New Understanding of Wheat Allergies, Celiac Disease, and Non-Celiac Gluten Intolerance. My bread-loving intern is horrified by the title of this book.

The Hugo House is hosting The Northwest Independent Editors Guild. The NIEG, which is not the best acronym in the world, is throwing an "open discussion on self-marketing and using social networking" to promote your work. This is also a potluck.

Peter Eichstaedt reads at Elliott Bay Book Company from First Kill Your Family: Child Soldiers of Uganda and the Lord's Resistance Army. Archbishop (emeritus) Desmond Tutu loves this book so you probably should, too.

The full readings calendar, including the next week or so, is here.

Does Tutu love that book because it gives him ideas? In only about ten short years he has helped transform South Africa from a first-world country into an incompetent shithole with the #1 rape and murder rate in the entire world. Now that's progress! Progressive progress! Over 100 black women and children brutally raped by black men every day in SA, but at least those mean white people don't govern (read: keep them under control because they can't control themselves) them any more! Celebrate divershitty!

Oh, how awful it is for naive liberals to have to be exposed to the terrible truth about the world. Waaaaaah! Don't confuse me with facts! Waaaaaaaah!
