Next, Make "Wikigeddon"

Posted by on Mon, Mar 9, 2009 at 2:27 PM

Jathia's Wager is an open-source movie (allegedly the world's first) that was written by an online community, wiki-style. Now it's available online. Here it is:

I couldn't get past the obnoxious interrogation scene about 5 minutes in.

A wiki film?

The only thing worse than a plan designed by committee is a movie designed by committee.

"Let's add some penguins."

"Great idea, how about some monkeys too!"

"We need a cut scene with chihauhaus."

Solomon Rothman's pecs are quite nice in that white Under Armour top.

It's a really interesting idea; I also have reservations about the final results as worthwhile art, but the very idea of such a thing let alone the exercise of it is novel.

I'm starting to believe that the way to make a movie that's any good is to not let any Americans participate in any part of the process except the $.

Wow, this was released online, for FREE? For FREE!
The acting alone with worth at least five cents, maybe six.

I remember learning about the "Auteur Theory" in a film class. I do believe that this is the exact opposite of that.
