It's a busy Saturday.
Lono Waiwaiole & Tim Dorsey read at Seattle Mystery Bookshop. Both have new books. Dark Paradise is about two drug lords fighting over Hawaii. Nuclear Jellyfish is about a website that leads to...murder.
At Elliott Bay Book Company in the mid-afternoon, Randy Shaw reads from Beyond the Fields: Cesar Chavez, the UFW, and the Struggle for Justice in the 21st Century. More people should read about Chavez. Not to guilt you or anything.
At Third Place Books, Robert Alexander reads from The Romanov Bride, a historical novel in which the Bolshevik Revolution is just around the corner.
And at Elliott Bay Book Company in the evening, Brian Evenson reads from Last Days, which is a gruesome, awesome novel about a detective who uncovers a cult of self-dismemberers. There'll be a Suggests for this one popping up soon and you should go and hear him read from this book. It's a great, creepy read.
The full readings calendar, including the next week or so, is here.
