Your Death Day

Posted by Charles Mudede on Fri, Mar 6, 2009 at 4:46 PM

Fresh from my inbox:

Republican standard-bearer Rush Limbaugh made an announcement this morning that clarified the party’s strategy for the time being:

1) predict the imminent death of leading liberals

2) say no to everything

3) hope for the worst

If you’re wondering why the country is in such bad shape, remember that these people were in charge for eight years. No further explanation needed.

Rush Limbaugh: “Kennedy will be dead by the time health care bill passes.”

Republicans are now in the habit of issuing death dates to prominent liberals.

Do Liberals fixate on Rush because the Obama Administration is such a disappointment they need a distraction?

It's weird; I actually expected Rush and Fox News to prosper more than ever once they were back in their more natural role as spoilers and bombthrowers, rather than apologists, but I'm happy to see that everyone seems tired of their willfully stupid bluster, now that they no longer have populist nationalism on their side.

Note to internet newbies: landing in someone's inbox does not necessarily make a message true.

Rush is a glutton and a gasbag. And I hope they keep pushing his bullshit on the American people.
Liberals have never left the country in such dire straits as the Republicans have. Ruined economy, ruined military, ruined healthcare, ruined infrastructure, ruined schools. Conservatives think they can just wish/pray things away. They won't be back in power for a long time at the rate they're going. Thank the stars for that.

Think back to 1979 and James Earl Carter.

Rush exists to provoke Liberals.

Conservatives don't listen to him.
He has his ditto-heads (the right wing version of sloggers) but they are a small and shrinking group.
Dan is probably Rush's biggest fan.
Time spent obsessing over Rush is time not spent on anything that actually matters (hence the daily 4 post dose of Rush on slog)

Yeaaaaaaah, 'cause a bloated, pill-popping porcine piece of shit going to out-live the Democrats.

Seriously, no chance at all. Not even Ruth B. Ginsberg or Teddy Kennedy.

Exactly how many years does this morbidly obese drug addict have left? He'll probably have a coronary racing to the buffet table at a Republican fundraiser someday.

Um, yeah, but to be fair, liberals spent a lot of time and "internet-space" speculating on whether McCain (if elected) would survive his first term. I'm not trying to make excuses for Rush, but it's hardly a conservatives-only tactic.
