For too long Christians sat passively and watched the Jews use kosher salt on their food. What, no holy salt for us? Finally a follower of Christ has done something about it.
Roman Catholics already HAVE blessed salt. We take it, and lots of other food, to be blessed on Holy Saturday (the day before Easter). Hell we bless just about ANYTHING.
If I remember correctly the salt flavor is meant to remind us of the richness of the lord, or something like that.

@11: You are a terrible Christian. Read your book of Acts chapter 10, where the Lord says, "What God has made clean, you must not call profane. Except for oregano, for it is an abomination."
#6 Makes the crucial point here, kosher salt is not sacred, or blessed, or even kosher. Salt cannot be unkosher unless it has unkosher things in it. Kosher salt is so named because it is suitable to drain all of the blood from meats, which is a critical step in making meat kosher. It is so named because of its use, not because of some blessing or another.
Does that mean fundamentalist Christians are now going to pay attenion to the rest of Leviticus. Are Christians now going to keep kosher? Stop eating pork and shell fish? Or is this the Christian version of Billy Beer?
"You are the salt of the earth; but if salt has lost its taste, how can its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything, but is thrown out and trampled under foot."
