Architecture Building Peace

Hillary, do not waste your time with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The solutions to the problem can not be found in diplomacy but in architecture.
Architecture student Viktor Ramos has a brilliant idea that may be the key to the Israel-Palestinian Gordian Knot: Instead of building grim walls or tunnels, create livable bridges so two states can live together, superposed.
Even the sheep appear to be happy with this fantastic solution.

Are these bridges bomb-proof?

The stuff of fantasy, indeed. But that's part of the beauty of being an architecture student rather than an actual architect who has to do "real" work, like design strip malls and convention centers. So, yeah, it'll (thankfully) never be built but generating such ideas are part of the evolution of any creative enterprise, and that's worth celebrating.

This is one of those ideas that is really awesome in theory but wouldn't work in practice for like a million different reasons.

Isn't the big sticking point between these folks that their gods supposedly promised them the LAND in perpetuity? They're not going to settle for bridges over that land. "Next year, 500 feet above Jerusalem!"
And I don't think Israel is going to literally cede the high ground to Palestinians (Golan Heights, anyone?), making it awfully easy just to drop a bomb or a water balloon or whatever at will.

I always thought that they should choose that area to build the space elevator.
The logic behind it goes something like this: the space elevator would be such a valuable commodity to the rest of the world that other countries would recognize that they have an interest in minimizing conflicts between Israelis and Palestinians, so as to avoid potential collateral damage to the space elevator. I think that's a better option than this bridge nonsense.

I for one am glad that our Hamster Overlords granted the lands in the Middle East to we the worshippers of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

If they can do that, why can't they just build a giant lid over the Holy Land, and let the survivors out after 500 or so years?

I'm confused about how this is even a remotely good idea, and I'm not talking in practice. Does architecture and particularly *theoretical* architecture already do its best to stratify people? This takes the cake and really demonstrates the destructive delusion that theoretical exercises are harmless, this item in particular deciding the best to do is separate. Let's just keep that great ball rolling, middle east or anywhere.
