I hadn't bothered to watch. I just flipped over. Umm awkward. He doesn't have Conan's charisma. Even when he sucked you knew he knew. I used to stay up late during summer breaks and watch early shows.
He seems like a fish out of water. I'm sure he'll get the hang of it in time. I think he was sweating with DeNiro. He seemed more comfortable with Justin Timberlake.... Personsally, I prefer Craig Ferguson... but I've been switching to see Jimmy's debut.

When Conan started waaaaayyyyy back in the early 90's only stoners, chronic masterbaters and other malcontents stayed up to watch. Thusly him and Richter just goofed off and that was where the magic came from(or the pot). Nobody was really watching back then including their own network but now that late late night television has been mainstreamed, thanks in large part to Conan, theres to much focus and Fallon just doesn't have the.. how shall I put it?Talent Balls to step up. Plus he's some how comes across as both cloying and nebbish at the same time.

I watched about 4 minutes before I switched over to Craig Ferguson. I'd never watched him when Conan was on, but I became a fan quickly. His look-I'm-a-character skits are kind of weird, and the set looks unbelievably low-dollar, but it was funny.
@10 -- He is taking Leno's spot starting in the summer.
Hardly surprising that Fallon would be bad, but he might get the hang of it and be good. I'd rather watch Jimmy Kimmel than any of the rest of them. His interview with the Clown Bachelor of Kirkland tonight was pretty funny.
Ferguson seems too much like every drunk a-hole Brit I have ever run into in bars.
I thought about watching Jimmy Fallon's show just because ?uestlove and The Roots are his house band, but I couldn't stay up that late because I'm too old. I wonder if his show is on Hulu?

His opening monologue was good...after that not so much. The skit with the moms, the skit with the licking and the two interview segments were PAINFUL.

It's kinda embarrassing to watch... I rather Carson Daly take over that spot. Jimmy Fallon is too green, I turned it off after he asked people to lick things for $10.
Fallon should never have left SNL, He has no movie career. Queen Latifah carried his ass in that shitty movie where he was a cop and she was a cab driver.
@jnonymous, Conan's moving to LA and will be replacing Leno as the host of the Tonight Show starting in June, Leno will be moving to a 10pm spot shortly after that, "the Jay Leno Show" or something along those lines.
I didn't catch Mr. Fallon's Anus, but it couldn't be as bad as Chevy Chase's late show. I still feel bad for Chevy over a decade later. I think it broke him.
i'll echo the comments about Fallon just generally sucking. The guy ruined some decent SNL skits by breaking character on a regular basis. Conan's stuff could be freaking brilliant at times. Will be interesting to see him move to 11:30.
Yeah, it was bad, but I'm willing to give it a little time (and I have a lot of say in these matters). New hosts always just jump in and do something random, and it always sucks until they figure out their own schtick. I think he definitely needs a sidekick, though, someone he's comfortable with.

I work night shift and unfortunately the Jimmy Fallon show is on in my patients rooms and so I've been forcibly exposed to it. I'd been wondering for a long time how the hell he got the gig and why the hell they hadn't pulled him off the air, so I was flabbergasted to learn that he was moving up a time slot. I mean really! They can't find anyone better than that?!
Why did you think that anything Fallon says or does would be REMOTELY interesting, competent, or funny? He makes Dane Cook look like a genius of comic timing and hilarity, and he's not funny either. Performers like Fallon only work when they're tightly scripted and directed.
