Three events tonight and two open mics.

Robert Moss reads from his book Secret History of Dreaming at Third Place Books. It's about our relations with dreams. Some press materials say that Moss has created a new way to look at consciousness. That's a little ambitious for a book, I think.

And at Elliott Bay Book Company, Joseph Stroud and Madeline Defrees read poetry. Defrees is local and is nearing her 90th birthday. Stroud is a much-celebrated poet.

At Town Hall, Dave Montgomery reads from Dirt, which is about the history of dirt and civilization. He was on NPR this morning, talking about the future of dirt. He can talk about dirt forever, this guy. This is the reading of the night.

The full readings calendar, including the next week or so, is here.

I heard him on NPR this morning. Kind of boring, oddly enough.
