Amanda the Animal

Suspect 'did cartwheels'

The woman accused of murdering British student Meredith Kercher performed bizarre gymnastic stunts immediately after the killing, her trial heard.

American Amanda Knox did cartwheels and performed the splits as she was waiting to be questioned over the death, a senior police officer told her trial.

She and her former lover Raffaele Sollecito are accused of killing Miss Kercher, from Coulsdon, in Perugia.

I'm becoming convinced that Amanda is simply simple. Simple in the sad sense of having a mental disability. A serious weakness or break must exist in the processes that connect her mind to the world of actual things and happenings. More and more I do not see her as a criminal but as clueless as that horse of Enumclaw. The undeveloped state of her mind make her as undesirable and as simple as that horse. What separates Meredith from Pinyan is that Meredith had no idea that an animal was in her house.

Maybe she has something like Asberger's. Some kind of autistic thing that causes a disconnect.

Don't worry, Amanda. There are plenty of 'tards out there living really kick ass lives. My first wife was 'tarded. She's a pilot now.

High on hash, duh, very consistent with her crime of being high on hash, which btw is not = murder.

There never has been any evidence of that, but it's no bar to worldwide media incl. Charles from luridly milking this ridiculous prosecution from day one.

I have a feeling, as PC pointed out, she was stoned...and probably still is stoned...and will continue to be stoned. And if she's convicted and sentenced to spend the rest of her life in prison, this might be a positive.

Your theory would explain her wardrobe in court. Who wears jeans and t-shirts to their murder trial? You'd think her legal team would at least dress her better.

@9: Right, but if it was really a matter of drugs, that could have easily been ruled out between the time of the murder and now. If she's "stoned", it's not the kind of stoned that depends on foreign substances.

@2 This trial will never end! They only hold sessions on Friday and Saturday mornings. And they're Italians, and the whole government has set new standards for inefficiency since Berlusconi came to power the first time, now its even worse the second. Ten years from now, in what ever form the Slog exists, Mudede will be commenting on Foxy Knoxy every Saturday. Maybe the Italian statute of limitations will expire first.

She's crazy. She's disconnected from reality because she's got Caryl Fugate syndrome- she was a powder keg waiting to meet the right spark to kill. She's not uncontrollably crazy, but I wouldn't trust her with a cat.

She should be locked up forever. If her parents are reading this, I'd say that it's probably not your fault, but your daughter should never see the sunshine again.

It's estimated that the psychopathic mindset has spread to about 25 percent of the population. I don't think she's any more vicious or callous than the typical gen xer at Microsoft stealing code from Sourceforge and figuring out what company to crush with patent enforcement.

@ Lee,

Since it is possible to get drugs in American prisons, I was assuming that it was probably possible to get contraband in Italian prisons judging from how much The Camorra contro.

**"...how much The Camorra control".** opps

There is quite a bit of corruption in Italy (like anywhere of course). I doubt half of what's being reported by the police is true and what is true is taken out of context or manipulated to make her look guiltier than she is. (Remember, cops are cops where ever they are).

#16, I am guessing that her parents and possibly some friends of hers have observed this behavior before. (not murder, but the disconnected stuff) Something about her gave me the creeps from the very start. Whoever ends up sharing a cell with her will need to sleep with one eye open.

I'm saying the Italian prosecutor is just making stuff up. And anyone who believes someone is doing cartwheels in a police station is beyond simple.

Which makes it pretty amazing, really, how far Charles Mudede has gotten with that intellect of his.

#4 got it right. Amanda isn't SIMPLE - but she is missing certain things that most people have - things like empathy and a conscience - she is a sociopath. She is a sociopath who committed murder and shows absolutely no remorse. Even beyond that she doesn't even show anything for how serious this situation is - she is on trial for murder! She acts like she's on some sort of reality TV show.

yech, she's about as hot as octo-mom. vivid should team them both up.

the girl is definitely insane. i'm sure the jeans and tshirt act is a put on by her local "legal team" (a.k.a. PR rep. that really only puts out false press releases and tries to convince the local news to always portray amanda in a positive light.)

In Charles' defense, even cursory reading of the statement she wrote that night and the verbal statements she made make it clear she was either severely hallucinating or severely traumatized. Probably both. It wouldn't surprise me if she was still in a state of mental breakdown.

Read the article linked @23. It is clear that she was making statements to either deflect or spread around the blame. There are "innocent" explanations that could be put forward for this, but they aren't obvious.

Charles question is valid from a cold hearted news perspective: was she always this wacked out or did she simply have a break.

@37 Come to think of it, I agree, the jeans and t-shirt look is probably intentional. Her PR team wants to make her look as much as possible like the innocent, young girl, incapable of murder.

I don't think it's working.

Is she mentally ill?
Is the Italian legal system corrupt and lazy?

Watching from New York...

This girl is a skanky sociopath who is so confident that her raging hotness will exonerate her in a court of law that she hardly displays normal reactions.

I have wanted to throw up since reading about this case when I was visiting Rome. Actually, I've wanted to throw the book at her and that pathetic p***Y-whipped boyfriend of hers since hearing the details.

A girl was murdered under extreme circumstances pointing to a sex game gone wild.

Sex, drugs, murder = Amanda Knox in an Italian jail for the rest of her days, getting fat, trying to remember the 20-year-old hottie she used to be.

Tabula rasa. The Amanda Knox / Meredith Kercher case is a blank slate on which observers project their own attitudes and perspectives. It is a mirror that is opaque and only reflects the viewer.

It really staggers me how many people just automatically assume she's guilty (of murder, there's no question she's guilty of bad judgement). Jesus, people, the tabloid press has tried her and convicted her already, and the Italian cops are desperate to pin this on the American girl, so they'll say or do anything.

Do I think she's guilty? I don't know. But I do not believe her guilt has been proven; I think what's been proven is that she's a bit off (she always has been, I know her slightly), has piss-poor judgement, and that the Italian police force is inept and corrupt.

In what context do you know her Geni?

I agree completely with Greg @48. Given the information the internet/newspaper specatator is given, there are 2 very plausible contradictory explanations

1) AK is a somewhat odd individual, whose very peculiar behaviour made police mistakenly think she was involved and therefore added their own evidence to the significant circumstantial evidence, or

2) It's as open and shut case as you're likely to see and anybody who can't see it, is simply blinded by AK's good looks and charm and is therefore willing to suspend disbelief.

Impossible to know really (though the language I've used suggests I'm strongly leaning towards 2) and I'm slightly appalled my own morbid fascination with the whole sorry and tragic circus.

This hurts to see. Amanda is, judging from only photos and with absolutely nothing else included in the opinion, just strikingly pretty. The kind of girl who I could fall for instantly. The kind of girl that could cause regrets of the worst kind possible. I hope that the trial will end soon, and that truth and justice will win.

Wow, that doesn't surprise me. I've lived in Seattle for awhile, and have met quite a few chicks from there before I had to move there. Alot of the girls I've met from Seattle were kooky at best, and definitely not nice. Color me bias here, but based on what I've read about Amanda so far, I think she fits that stereotype I have of Seattle women.

I thought OJ did it, and I think Amanda Knox is guilty too. Maybe not of direct murder, but she was definitely a participant. She shows no feelings of empathy, remorse (which would imply guilt), or sadness. These are qualities of a sociopath, people. And sociopaths tend to be murderers.
