Washington Unemployment Rate Still Rising

Up to 7.8 percent for January. (It had been 7.1 percent in December.)

About 303,570 people are estimated to be unemployed and looking for work in Washington — the largest number ever for this state.

The price of labor is so high in Washington State. It's no surprise that our unemployment level is so high. Supply will never equal demand with such high labor costs.

I got laid off last Thursday. No wonder it took me an hour to get a human on the phone at the unemployment line.
