Film / Nerd That's Why So Serious

Some Heath Ledger fans have started a weird tribute to their hero.
Can you imagine the super human efforts film companies would have to go through to find a fourth Joker after Heath Ledger? Is a better Joker even possible to imagine? Entertainment producers “sorry, but it’s simply impossible”It’s impossible to imagine, impossible to draw or dub much less repeat the performance.
That’s why efforts to find one should simply cease. The Joker must die now and forever. Now is the time for him to rest in peace as Ledger has ennobled the honourable villain.
We want you to join our crusade to withdraw, for good, the character of the arch villain who killed Jason Todd and left Batgirl handicapped.
The ultimate Joker has been shown and deserves this homage.
There's a petition you can sign to make sure that the Joker never appears in a Batman movie again, because, as far as these guys are concerned, Ledger performed the perfect cinematic Joker. Maybe so, but he didn't have this line:

Oh, for fuck's sake. He was a decent actor. He wasn't the best actor ever. We can't even know yet if he's the best actor of his generation. You don't retire roles. It's not hockey -- you don't raise the Joker to the rafters and hang him there with Olivier's Hamlet or Wells' Kane. Other directors will come along with their own take on this story and other actors will have their turn at the Joker.
If you don't want to see anyone else's take on the Joker, don't watch the movie when it's made. But don't limit future filmmakers and actors because Brokeback Batvillain gave you a chubby.

I can see them getting a joker who is actually FUNNY instead of sociopathic. I mean, Keith or Heath or whatever was so friggin' gloomy and pschotic.
You know what the joker was about --- YEAH, JOKES!!
That's why he's the JOKER.

He's supposed to be lightly farcical with a touch of malice.

Cesar Romero played him fabulously, Jack Nicholson got all the good lines, but Heath Ledger clearly had the best drugs.

Heath Ledger was fantastic as the Joker, capturing his disturbed humor even in the way he moved. Still, I think Ledger himself would think it silly to retire the character from cinema, even from the current franchise, because that would mean the actor was more important than the film itself.

Seriously, that's one of the most idiotic notions I've ever heard - and fanboys are notorious for exuding idiocy from their pores at times like flop-sweat from a bad liar.

There's been way too many interpretations of the character to block off his use based upon one. Mark Hamill's was also a fantastic one, for starters.

I loved Nicholson's Joker and I loved Ledger's Joker for different reasons. If someone else can play the character well, I'm sure I'd be fine loving that portrayal too.

I thought it was great that the first film had Scarecrow as a villain. Heath was a great Joker by the way. If they do another movie I hope they go with a lesser used nemesis (I'm sure Two-Face will appear). I am hoping for someone like Solomon Grundy or Harley Quinn). They should forgo Mr. Freeze, The Riddler, Penguin, or Catwoman.
