If You Didn't Make it to Slog Happy Last Night...

Posted by on Fri, Feb 13, 2009 at 8:30 AM

Then you missed:

Matt "Fuckin'" Hickey singing "Bohemian Rhapsody"
Paul Constant singing "Try a Little Tenderness" and "Ballroom Blitz"
Scottie Yahtzee singing "Sunglasses at Night"
Asa singing "Paint It Black"
Joh singing "The Thong Song"
Greg singing "Bad Touch"

And oh so much more... Abby sang some Morrissey, Jessica and Original Monique sang some Britney Spears (hot, ladies), Scary Tyler Moore sang a showtune that's currently escaping my mind (refresh my memory, Scary!) and brought everyone sweetheart candy, and then there were a lot of new faces too! You were all very nice and funny and I hope you weren't too scared off to come again next month.

Everyone at the Crescent took such good care of us too—they started karaoke early and extended their happy hour just for us, so a huge thanks to all of them for being so accommodating (I hope you all tipped well!).

I hope you all had fun, because I thought it was a blast (and the whole way home I regretted not having the balls to get up and sing, which means we'll have to do it again sometime).

Next month's Slog Happy will be Thursday, March 12. See you then! (And I know there are pictures from last night... will someone please send me pictures?)

it was 'everything's coming up roses', megan. yes, we MUST have karaoke again and have you sing. paul constant wants to me sing bob dylan a la ethel merman. i can't decide between 'positively 4th street' and 'masters of war'. you forgot sam machkovech's unforgettable rendition of 'kiss from a rose'. i do have pictures and video, and will send them to you sometime today.

Can you post these ASAP? I'm kind of dying to hear Paul sing "Ballroom Blitz". If "sing" is the word.

@2: Paul absolutely killed it.

Hurray for everyone who came out! It was a good time and I'm sort of shaky & hungover today.

Glad everyone had a good time, and sorry I couldn't make it. But, you'd all get pissed at me if I gave you whatever is eating away my lung tissue, so all for the best.

I had a lot of fun for the limited time that I was there, good to see you all.

At least I got to see Scary, Paul and Matt Fuckin' Hickey blow up the stage!

@5 Next time, wisepunk, we're only letting you in if you bring more caramels.

The book I grabbed is a real doozy. Paul tried to warn me, but I wouldn't listen. I have Monday off, so expect a report early next week.

I walked by as I heard someone - Abby, I believe - introduce herself to someone at the door. I had to be home -- I should have stepped in for one drink and maybe one song. Hope you all had a good time.

The Crescent seemed like a cool place. I might see if I can take the ladies there sometime.

Dude, I think I'm a little in love with the Crescent now. Lots of karaoke selections, sweet staff, and good drinks = WIN.

I so wanted to go! But I had a rehearsal last night. Please do karaoke again, preferably in summer when I don't have Thursday night rehearsals!

I offered my boyfriend, a semi-prolific commenter, a sexual act if he would walk down the street and sing "Total Eclipse of the Heart."

Sorry dudes, I tried. But despite how awesome said act would've been, I knew I was going up against too much.

After waiting for an hour for the bozo to set up for karaoke I said f**k it and went to a real karaoke show up at the Fluff run by a guy who knows how to run a karaoke night.
