Rosler, the feminist artist responsible for the video in which the measurements of a woman are taken and recorded (including vaginal depth) by men in white coats (right), came to Seattle in the 1990s for a Seattle Arts Commission project that resulted in several one-minute PSAs made from interviews with native tribal members including Vi Hilbert (who died not long ago) and Roger Fernandes. (I just found them on a random run-through of Rosler's work.)
It's too bad neither Seattle Art Museum nor the city dug those up during SAM's Salish exhibition this winter; I wonder where they were broadcast (in what contexts), whether they were considered any good, how we might consider them now, where they are now...
