At Least There's That

Jesus, we're not even covering all the layoffs: Has this even been on Slog? The 7,000 layoffs at Macy's? It seems like the Internet is just a huge woe delivery system these days. So at least there are still diversions, like the How Many 90 Year Olds Could You Take In a Fight quiz. You have to skip over an ad for some sort of dating site or whatever, but it's important to know this kind of information, especially since we all might be fighting for a loaf of bread some day soon.

(Thanks, Presurfer.)

Macys are such stupid stores. I'd love to see some sort of anti-trust legislation come into play to bust it all up and give us back regional stores.

For instance a restored Bon Marche might actually realize that there is a market in downtown Seattle for products other than women's clothing and china.

The loaf of bread reference just feeds this hysteria.

Real Chicago folks will never forgive Macy's for buying up and then shutting down Marshal Field's. Rot in hell, Macy's.

I was reading 'The Best Nonrequired reading 2008' last night and it mentioned a facebook group called "a realistic assessment of how many tweleve year olds you could beat up." Is how many of a strange thing can I beat up the newest cool thing?

The nets are rife with this story, just not so much here yet. Macy's snapped up so many stores around the country - the 7,000 job cuts are planned out of a workforce of 182,000, unbelievably. There are malls in California with multiple Macy's stores.

I only took down 21, Paul. Enough for some bread, though.

Paul - you are simply stupid sounding

Deal with the ongoing recession in some rational mode. It will be hard on tons of people to survive with little money, ain't funny at all

You sound like a ten year old

Course you will go on the road as a young surplus male, jobs are for the guys with kids to feed ... hungry kids .. get it Paul? No money for food, get it Paul?

Even with a car and willing to travel, no jobs anywhere in America, get it Paul??

Even if you have a job, hours and wages cut to half you past earnings, Paul, you going to sleep in the Stranger digs? Get food stamps?

Shit on the hah hah crap.

What up, 27! I did better with this one than the Velociraptor chained to the bunk bed, I think.

You people at SLOG remind me of hardcore Southern racists from the 1950s in the backwoods of the Deep South.

It's not just that your ageist -- it's that you're fanatically obsessed about age! Every day there is some post that insults or obsesses about "Old"...in the same way that gang of White Hicks on their dilapidated porch would be talking for hours about who they were going to lynch that day.

36 - despite the fact that I'm a 150lb weakling.

I think the wrestling in high school (One year when I was 14 and one of only three in the city in the absolute smallest weight class) - and the martial arts training (I participated in a rape prevention program where they taught Aikido techniques) - throw off the numbers.

31, but I answered all the questions with the mindset that the old folks were messing with my kids.

Interesting observation, remember the fastest growing age group in America are people over 80 - so - it makes great sense to be really really hung up and out about getting older.

And as the economy collapses all the 25 ites will be living in the free basements of the old folks, kind old folks who cook.

Fucktards, be sure to say thanks and give hugs ....

I could take 29 of them out, notwithstanding the fact that I am morally opposed to doing so.

I TOO AM OUTRAGED BY THE CONSTANT AGEISM BUT I AM EVEN MORE INFURIATED BY THE CONTEXT IN WHICH IT IS USED FQTBLG OF COLOR AND OF SIZE GET OLD TOO AND ARE TOO MANY TIMES THROWN UNDER THE BUS BY RULING PRIVLIDGE WHITES AND THEIR ENABLERS LIKE OBAMA.

AGEISM HURTS THE POPULATION AT LARGE BUT IT KILLS MEMBERS OF THE FQTBLG COMMUNITY!
