Signs of the Times

In the last Super Bowl commercial break, there was an ad featuring Hyundai's new program that lets you return a leased vehicle with no penalty if you lose your job within 12 months, followed closely by an ad for Cash4Gold.com—featuring Ed McMahon and M.C. Hammer—a website that helpfully offers to take all of your durable wealth off your hands.

Just sayin'.

Hey, Bob Dylan peddling Pepsi...I love it! The folkies/far lefties/stupid hippies are probably still angry he went electric, how will they handle Pepsi?

The Cash4Gold commercials (minus celebrities) run during the weekdays all the time. I would worry about some crooked postal worker stealing the envelopes.

You should be more worried about Cash4Gold itself scamming you:

They recently offered the author a few thousand to remove the article because it ranks high on google.

It's not time to worry until you start seeing ads on teevee for cash for your body parts.

Is it just me, or do you find it weird to see Ed McMahon peddling crap like this when his house just got foreclosed on?

So yeah, I saw this ad and thought, Christ, that's telling.

I had a similar response when I saw an ad for Velveeta about three weeks ago - first one I'd seen since I was a kid.

The whippersnappers out there probably don't even know what Velveeta is!

That cash4gold.com ad was hilarious. There was a bunch of great ads this year. Nice work, corporate America!

How much you think I can get for that Ohio Players record?

Yeah, the irony. Harrison, cinderella heart warming story, makes an unbelievable 100 yard interception return. Later in the game, he PUNCHES another player more than once childishly. For the most part, Pro Sports breeds fucked up people.

The ads SUCKED. There was hardly anything new. That Hyundai commercial has been playing non stop for a freakin' month.
