Voxx Coffee on Eastlake

This place has good tea, great sandwiches, it's not in denial, design-wise, about being in a newer concrete building, and best of all: there are outlets everywhere. Coffee shops, bars, airport terminals—all newly constructed places designed for sitting and killing time (or brain cells) should have plenty of power outlets. Most don't. Thanks, Voxx.

I never liked Voxx - the staff are always pretty snooty towards me. Might just be me though. I love Louisa's but they're not as Laptop friendly - not as many outlets.

Ah, my old block in Eastlake. Still prefer the espresso cart across the street in front of The Zoo -- it's where Eastlake locals get their drips without a spoonful of jerk.

I don't know, man. I'm still bitter that building took the place of the decrepit old building that housed the wonderful Hines Public Market Coffee. Wish I could still buy my beans from them. Sigh.

voxx is great and all, until you have to interact with the baristas. if the type of coffee bean is spelled "Koratie", then I'm going to pronounce it sorta like karate. so don't respond by saying "so you'd like one bag of KOH-RAH-TAY?"

ballbag.

Lack of enough tables for laptop users.

It's not called a tabletop computer for a reason @9.

outlet scarcity is one nice way of eliminating the all-day wifi camper.

Unrelated, but I want Dan to feel vindicated in his paranoia on inauguration day: a lot of VIP Obama donors were shocked by the lack of security around the president and VP-elect.

I've never had any difficulties with the barristas, and it's cozy and calm in the evening, for now.

#11 - yep. I'm seeing cafes in my neighborhood cover outlets, and the newest has none at, nor wifi, to discourage laptops (and probably more to-the-point, encourage table turnover).

If cafes want to advertise themselves as laptop friendly, that's fine, but for most, you should never stay longer than the life of your battery.

So, once again, those of us who can afford extra batteries and longer-life ones can crowd out the graphics artists who burn through batteries faster?

Man, you must really hate artists. And poor people.

After that bullshit piece last week from Spangenthal-Lee, here comes Doorknob Danny singling out Voxx on Slog and The Stranger Reader Reviews, hoping Voxx will advertise in The Stranger.

You forgot to mention they have a couch (where I was sitting moments before you took this picture). Couches are important.
