Reading Tonight

There are three readings tonight.

Eileen Gunn, who is a science fiction author, reads at the Hugo House. I haven't read Eileen Gunn's work, but you can take a look here.

At Town Hall, Ken Robinson reads from The Element: How Finding Your Passion Changes Everything. This is one of those books about finding your inner productive person who never needs to sleep or make mistakes. Good luck with that.

And at Elliott Bay Book Company, Patricia Junker discusses the Edward Hopper exhibit at SAM. This is also sort of a release party for the catalog of the exhibit. I'm a sucker for Hopper—I think I have a special gland that releases happy drugs when I see one of his paintings; the same gland loves Jimmy Stewart movies—so we'll call this the reading of the night.

The full readings calendar, including the next week or so, is here.

I went to the Hopper "exhibit" at SAM yesterday, all two small rooms and six paintings of it (also some etchings) -- pretty weak

Eileen has always had great stories.

Recommended, if you're at all into SF.

@1, it's called "Hopper's Women"--the paintings were chosen for that topic, not to be an exhaustive introspective of his work.

Constant, Nighthawks is not in the show. See above.
