And all it took in either case was being consistently wrong about everything for their entire careers.

That last line is pretty sweet, especially coming after that particular column. He should have done a courtesy flush halfway through, but at least he left the window open when he was finished.

Well I'll be dipped in shit. Today's Times is sitting here right next to me, but I haven't looked it yet. Maybe I should, eh?

I'm reminded of the last lines that George Bush I ends his memoirs with in this particular episode of the Simpsons, "I had accomplished everything in my first term, there was no need for another." Perhaps Mr. Kristol feels Neo Conservatism has been vindicated (Bush and Cheney certainly do) so his work preaching to the pinko masses who read the NYTimes is moot.

Now maybe he can get his teeth whitened bi-weekly with his new found free-time!

#4 provides the link. You can read the last line (not the last line of the column, the line in italics AFTER the column) by clicking on that. If you want.

Famous Last Words...of the column that wasn't about it being his last column, it was a column about Obama and Liberalism.

"This is William Kristol’s last column."(In Italics)
