What We Do Is Also Secret (2009), by Coco Howard and Spencer Moody, installation, 40 pounds wool and 50 yards polar fleece

At VAIN, in a small and creaky room upstairs.

What you can't get from this video is what it's like to touch the room. Every surface is hand-felted. Including underfoot. Sofffft.*

(*The artists want people to use the art before it's destroyed at the end of the next month—for photo shoots, for videos, whatever. Email the artists. More of Howard's work is here.)

I like the spooky look of a "gale force(d) wind" at the end of the video displayed.

Perhaps somewhere out there in "papoose land", there's a play antagonists and protagonists "dukeing it out" for the benefit of clean t-pees everywhere.

After all... love is paramount.

I really want to see this. Thanks for the coverage. I hope its open to the public more than Saturdays. I happened upon the upstairs of Anne Bonney once and noticed a work studio - I realize now it might have been coco.

I really adore any workspace that reminds me of my moms sewing room - a little cluttered and transient but ultimately some reference to the crafts that I appreciate.

Looks like the set of a middle school play inspired by Pan's Labyrinth or something...should've stayed secret.

Let me guess: they're claiming they wanted it to suck.

it's really an true installation that you have to be standing in to properly get it. I loved it. It made me feel funny

It gave me a swoopy feeling too, when I stood inside...
