Former French president Jacques Chirac was rushed to hospital after being mauled by his own 'clinically depressed' pet dog.

The 76-year-old statesman was savaged by his white Maltese dog - which suffers from frenzied fits and is being treated with anti-depressants.

The animal, named Sumo, had become increasingly violent over the past years and was prone to making 'vicious, unprovoked attacks', Chirac's wife Bernadette said.

Look at the dog in the car. Look at its black and stupid eyes. It is only matter of time before it bites its master, the former president of France.

This is hysterical!

They should let that stupid Maltese have an accidental overdose of antidepressant.

I love dogs but that dog should be shot in the head!

In the french press she goes on to say that the the dog hasn't been the same since they left the Presidential mansion. Hmm. Maybe Bush's also-sometimes-violent pup will turn on him in the years to come.

My dog got leftovers from the fine restaurant we dined at tonight and he earned them. Last night he bit a man that approached me from behind as I was looking into a storefront window. My doggie usually greets people wagging his tail but he knew this guy was up to no good. I still have my purse, wallet, credit cards, etc. due to my faithful friend. Look up the breed of Jack Russell Terrier: they are brave little dogs and have saved a good many people from pit bull attacks even to the extent that they had to be put to sleep after sustaining gruesome injuries!
