Posted by on Wed, Jan 21, 2009 at 10:43 AM

Lost returns tonight at 8:00 p.m. with a three-hour run! One recap episode and two new episodes.

What are your questions/comments about what's happening on the show?
Why do the Oceanic 6 need to go back?
Can somebody remind me what Sayid is doing for Ben and why?
Did the island move geographically or temporally? If it is moving in time, could we be seeing people we thought were gone?

Here is Wm.™ Steven Humphrey's preview:

Lost (ABC, Wed Jan 21, 9 pm). This season, Jack and buggy-eyed Ben are gonna go nuts trying to find the missing island, and maybe without the help of Hurley, Kate, Sun, and Sayid! Sure, they'll be able to get Locke to join them—because he's DEAD! But who wants to fly with a dead guy? They STINK! And what if the island was sent back in time? What if Sawyer wakes up and some old dude in pantaloons says, "Oh, hello. I'm Benjamin Franklin. I'm going to discover electricity today."

No spoilers, please.

Sayid is helping Ben because Ben found the man who killed Sayid's love (Natasha) so that he could exact revenge. So now Sayid feels that he owes Ben, and also that he has no other purpose in life now that his love is gone.

@1, he's also doing it to protect the other O6 and people on the island from Widmore.

... and for the island moving, we don't know where or when it has moved, but I think a hint can be found in the fact that the island was moved around new years 2004 into 2005, and after Ben moved the island, he was transported to the Sahara Desert, and the date was sometime in Oct. 2005. Don't know if this is relevant, but it could be.

It's Nadia, not Natasha!!!

And, most importantly, will Jack's chest hair return?

keshmeshi, depends on what you mean.

yes, he appears dead at the very end of the finale, but that was a flash forward. so he existed for lots of time before that (but after the island movement) that you have not seen.

and he's been "killed" before but the island has brought him back to life.

Cue comment along the lines of, "I quit watching when it was obvious the producers had no game plan" in 3...2..

As for me, I can't wait until tonight! Since I'm in grad school, it's the only show I'll be watching live for the next four months or so.

Ben said when he moved and left the island (in the donkey wheel room) that he wouldn't be able to come back again. And then he turned up in the Tunisian desert in a parka. Locke said he was staying on the island, but then years later he turned up dead off-island, in a new identity. There was a Dharma training film with a bunny in an experiment suddenly being transposed across a lab, and the frantic scientists freaking out that the bunnies should not touch each other.

Maybe Ben is still on the island, where/whenever it went, and maybe Locke is still there, too, but the same phenomenon that made a bunny doppelganger that couldn't meet its twin created a duplicate Ben and Locke out in the Real World...

@6 - I'm right there with you. Fucking Fisher. I hope they enjoy the lost advertisement revenue -- I'm off to the torrents!

The only thing I don't get is why the little kid doesn't have to go back to the Island since they were born there.

All I care about is maximum Ben screen time. I love that bug-eyed son of a bitch.

oh, I've got a lot I can say but it might get spoilery...(my Lost websites are the first thing I check in the morning). I will give you this:

"Libby says hello"

and, we'll be seeing Dr Marvin Candle, Ethan Rom, Charles Widmore and Hurley's parents tonite.

And does Hurley's mom know more about the Island than we think she might?

And, is Ms Hawking related to someone on the Island?

And, what exactly is a Jughead? (the title of NEXT week's episode)

And, we WILL see Charlie this season...but it won't be Dominic Monaghan...

oh, here's the titles of the first 11 episodes:
1)Because You Left (tonite's first episode; O6 oriented)
2)The Lie(tonite's second episode; 06 oriented)
3)Jughead(no Oceanic 6 in this episode; people who have seen this episode rate it up there with last season's "The Constant")
4)The Little Prince
5)This Place is Death
6)The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham (Locke centric episode)
7)316
8)LeFleur
9)Namaste
10)He's Our You
11)Whatever Happened, Happened

Thanks, MS. Is Desmond out of the picture or do you think he'll still be around?

Hmmm, Libby? Interesting.

1)Desmond and Penny are strongly featured next week. Penny might be a little plumper down the road...

2)Google "Lost spoilers" but only if you LIKE knowing stuff.
