Obama Street Party!

Posted by on Tue, Jan 20, 2009 at 8:33 PM

Stranger news intern Aaron Pickus reports there's a spontaneous Obama party happening on Capitol Hill.

There's a crowd of about 200 people in Cal Anderson park right now. I'm working on getting pictures.

Pics and videos of the early samba and drum action at Seattle Central. Have fun kids.

Some would argue that a party in a park is not a street party.

it started roughly around Pike and Broadway, and happily meandered its way over to Cal Anderson. cops followed us the whole time but never got involved. probably peaked at around 300 people. it was no "election night" blowout, but still awesome!

Those are just Wamu ex-employees who heard Obama had sent around a truck with government cheese.

Fellows, it's near the bocce court!

These dancers were on the corner of 11th and Pine adjusting their (brrr!) sandals. They have headdresses with grazillions of feathers at least a yard long.
