While Michelle rocked it, Laura Bush was dressed as an eraser.

Laura has a better figure than Michelle.

@1 but she's in heels, closer to the camera and has taller hair. All of that considered, they look to be very close in height. That said, I think W is almost 6 feet tall so Michelle is not a short woman.

I don't care much for Michelle's coat. Obama's coat looks great on him though.

Have you seen Jill Biden's outfit? She's rocking a miiiiiini-skirt and fuck-me boots. And she's pulling it off!

Yeah, way to go, Jill!

The subdued color of Mrs Bush's suit is appropriate for the occasion. She probably remembered that it is impolite to outdress the bride.

yeah, i think Laura Bush looks classy and appropriate. and of course Michelle should look more extravagant than her today.

jill looked awesome too.

but most of all -
DID YOU GET A LOAD OF FRANKLIN'S HAT?
Awesome.

no, I think she was trying to NOT draw attention to herself; the bridesmaid metaphor is apt.

And Michelle's coat is attractive but she did look a little preggers in it...

I was a little surprised by Jill's boots. I'm betting it was more of a warmth decision than a fashion decision, though. Something I would do -- fuck it, it's going to be ass cold, I'm wearing hooker boots.

She was the least objectionable member of a failed former Presidency.

And I loved Aretha's hat too - that rocked!

@15 - Laura.

Seriously, she was ok.

Not great.

But in comparison to the rest of the train wreck, she shone.

Laura and Michelle are wearing identical shoes.

Discuss.

Laura Bush gave DC the National Book Festival, possibly the only thing of any value at all to come from any member of Bush's posse.
