Reading Tonight

Posted by on Mon, Jan 19, 2009 at 10:16 AM

Besides one open mic, there's only one event today, but it's a good one.

At 2 pm, at the Seattle Center Pavilion, people will be reading excerpts from Martin Luther King Jr.'s speeches, which seems like a nice thing to do on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

The full readings calendar, including the next week or so, is here.

Hulu has a good presentation of MLK clips, interviews...I watched the NBC report on Selma from 1957 last nigh:

Well, you almost have it right.
The MLK Day event started at 11am at Seattle Center. It's in the Center House, not the Seattle Center Pavilion. (The Seattle Center Pavilion is the building that's being torn down for the new skatepark).
The readings of the MLK speeches starts at 2:30.
