Right on, Ezra Klein—and remember: a gay person can only be blackmailed so long as he or she is in the closet. You can't blackmail an openly gay person over his sexuality. And since DADT only "allowed" gays and lesbians to serve in the military so long as they remained successfully closeted, DADT turned all gay members of the military—all of them closeted by design—into ripe targets for blackmail. File it under "military intelligence."
