Always Be Closing

Posted by on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 3:18 PM

The Edinburgh Fringe has asked for a £600,000 bailout.

The festival's board is preparing to ask for emergency funds to meet basic running costs after a box office crisis last year saw sales slump by almost 10 per cent.

It is expected that it will have to turn to the Scottish Arts Council, the Scottish government and the local authority for more loans and grants to secure its future.
