So many people just don't understand how a gay person could support the Republicans, but if you go back to the Republican Party of Goldwater & Eisenhower, you'd see a Republican Party that truly did support individual rights and the idea of keeping government out of our lives (including in the bedroom). So the sad reality of the LCRs is that they're supporting a Republican Party that hasn't existed for 30 years (since the late 70's, when the evangelicals took over), and hasn't existed at any time that the LCRs have been in existence (founded in early 90's, I think). The idea that the LCRs are self-hating, cowards, hypocrites, crazy, deluded, etc., isn't really accurate. They're outsiders among outsiders, and I think they've got guts. But right now they're so far in the political wilderness that they have virtually no chance of being an effective force for change within the Republican Party, and they refuse to accept that. So, yes, I think it would be accurate to call them "clueless," but they're clueless with a purpose.
More gay people should try to understand what the LCRs are about, instead of dismissing them out of hand, which is intellectually lazy.

I'm with #4. We'll get a slightly more intelligent voice but the same political runaround. These folks who think everything changes next week... they amuse me.

The only thing that will change on Tuesday is the face. Obama isn't going to do much different. He will stay in Iraq for most of his term if not all (watch how the situation will "change") the recession will worsen (see how the Democrats are balking on the bail out plan more than they did for the $750 Billion they handed to the bankers). Oh yeah, his administration is made up of washed up Clintonites and Republicans.
So number 8, you're right but it will be FUNNY listening to left wing radio hosts like Randi Rhodes, Mike Malloy and Stephanie Miller defend the same things they opposed with Bush.
