Obama's Nerd Is Showing

Posted by Paul Constant on Mon, Jan 12, 2009 at 3:26 PM

I've already written about Spider-Man saving Obama in a special Inaugural Issue of his comic book. Well, it turns out that Obama's other comic book love, Conan the Barbarian, is getting into the act, too. Dark Horse Comics publisher Mike Richardson is mailing the president-elect 30 volumes of collected Conan comic books.

Obama! What is best in life?

Geez man, hold of a bit would ya! Maybe give it to him as a going away present down the road.

I hope for all our sake that Obama doesn't read those unless he's on vacation. WE need his attention these days, not conan.

Paul Constant, are you foreshadowing our next great President, Arnold Schwarzenegger??! "Infidel defilers!! They will all drown in LAKES OF BLOOD!"

Bravo, Dark Horse. Ummm...isn't the President not actually supposed to accept any kind of gift over, like, $20 in value? I'm pretty sure those 30 volumes of Conan are going to get either thrown into a vault or sold back somewhere. Oh well. It's the thought that counts, right?

Know what would be really cool? During breaks between addressing NATO and The League of Arab States, If Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver read aloud the dialog from his Conan comics, while Karl Rove rubbed Obama's feet and Condi Rice rubbed his shoulders. Rove and Condi could be supporting characters when called for.

Malia and Sasha could act out the trampling-your-enemies-into-dust parts with piggyback rides from Jeb Bush and Mitt Romney around the Whitehouse Lawn.

But does Obama know the riddle of steel?

This is bullshit. The man will be making $400,000 a year. and his room and board is payed for. Nobody needs to send him a set of anything; he should spend his nights bidding on swag on eBay like the us average Americans.

Don't all U.S. presidents just archive the roomfuls of gifts people give them? Straight into a museum collection?
