The PI's Publisher Isn't Taking Questions From The PI's Reporters

Posted by on Fri, Jan 9, 2009 at 8:44 AM

And that seems like a bad sign.

The Seattle P-I's publisher hinted early Friday he would shed some light about a Thursday TV report that the paper would be put up for sale.

Contacted at home, editor and publisher Roger Oglesby said, "There's nothing I can tell you now. I will call you later today."

Oglesby would not say whether he plans to address the newsroom Friday. He declined to speak further.

They've been asked to become the commerce secretary!

Seriously you have nothing yet with this speculation.

Good, now we can set a course for ousting the Blethens. Go get'em, Hearst!

Hey, anyone else notice that the Seattle Times has removed their eagle symbol, arguably the Blethen family crest, from the masthead of their website.

As I recall and a google archived page proved, the logo used to live in the blank space at the top, between the fancy font name and the little weather icon.

Anyone else find this strange?

According to a source at the Stranger the Eagle has been offered a position within the Obama administration.

I'm not allowed to comment any further.

I believe the eagle accepted a correspondent position with Stephen Colbert.

I hear the publisher is in Iraq, trying to find out if Joe the Plumber's Syrian mistress is pregnant or it's just a false alarm.

Whatever. At least you won't see the eagle in the back pages of the Stranger.
