News Look Out Here Comes the Master Race!

Three stupid white thugs angry about the election of Barack Obama head out on election night to beat up black people—and come close to killing a white dude.

Like countless other Americans that night, a group of young Staten Island men gathered on Nov. 4 to watch election results, and then took to the streets when it became clear that the country had elected its first black president....

The group then carried out a series of other assaults, the statement said: They pushed a black man in Port Richmond to the ground; accosted a Latino man and demanded to know for whom he had voted; and yelled profanities about Mr. Obama as they drove past black people at a hair salon.

They then spotted a man, Ronald Forte, in a hooded sweatshirt, on Blackford Avenue. Believing that the man was black, the group decided that one of them would hit him with the baton, prosecutors said. Instead, Mr. Nicoletti “decided to hit him with the car,” and Mr. Forte, 38, was thrown onto the hood and into the windshield, shattering it.

His mother, Eileen Forte, told the court, “Every day for the last two months I’ve watched my son in a coma.” The defendants, she said, planned “to leave him in the gutter to die.”

The men face charges that could land them in prison for 10 years, keeping them off the streets for—fingers crossed—both of Barack Obama's terms. They'll no doubt be made to feel welcome in New York's prisons, where 51% of inmates are African American.

I don't think Stranger readers in the cocoon of Seattle understand how deep the fear runs in these ignorant white assholes. A friend of mine who works at a retail store in Everett that caters to hunters and sportsmen said recently that all day long he hears nothing but comments about "the monkey" that's going to the White House.

Let's face it -- up until now, people with White Skin in this country had...leverage. That is, an automatic increase in value without anything to back it up.

Now we're living in more of a meritocracy where people may be ranked according to their skills, not their skin.

As CEOs fall, as housing crashs, as stock flattens, all the little "boosts" that put people above each other based on nothing but luck and history have fallen away.

That's gotta scare a lot of people!

A white dude? Im confused, the article states "The papers do not name the fourth man, but another teenager, Bryan Garaventa, was charged with Mr. Nicoletti in the first attack, on Alie Kamara, a 17-year-old black resident of Staten Island."

@7, Up until now? Electing Obama didn't eliminate the massive advantage in pay and economic access that white men (33% of the population) still legally enjoy. We're still a plutocracy.

I'm not sure how if we are so proud of running a prison system that seethes with rape and racial violence that we have any right to feel smugly superior to these "thugs." Seems like you'd have to be a thug yourself to build institutions like that.

do you really? you really hope he enjoys it? or was this just yet another attempt at humor over prison rape? i think a new corollary to godwin's law must be that any message thread having anything remotely to do with prison must contain at least one, and usually several, "jokes" about rape. you neglected to mention "bubba" but maybe this is your first time.

Prison rape is not funny. And it's not likely to make these idiots into racially-sensitive model citizens, either. They'll probably come out with Aryan Nations tattoos; won't that be lovely.

@16 - Unless they're raped by white dudes, which will totally cure them of their Aryan Nation-ness. At least that's what American History X taught me.

I agree that everyone in this country is just as bad as a guy who intentionally rammed a white guy who he thought was black because people get raped in prison.

Not that I don't agree with the general sentiment, but most prisons are segregated by race, or predominant race. Even if you don't identify with that race yourself. I know half-Asians who were put into Asian block, even though they considered themselves black/Muslim. So it's unlikely that white supremacists would have contact with black people in prison.
