Are You Hosting an Inauguration Day Party?

Posted by Megan Seling on Thu, Jan 8, 2009 at 3:12 PM

The Stranger is!

Celebrate Obama's big win with The Stranger and The Triple Door!

The Stranger’s Inaugural Ball promises to be a morning worthy of skipping work! Sex advice columnist, author, media pundit, journalist and The Stranger’s editorial director Dan Savage will provide commentary on live inauguration coverage, broadcasting on our 16 x 9 foot screen.

For an extra $18 ($24 day of), purchase brunch—a buffet complete with both continental and Dim Sum selections. And of course, bloody marys, mimosas and a full cash bar will be available.

For tickets and more information, UPDATE! The Ball is completely sold out! We did not expect this to happen so soon! Sorry!

What are you doing come January 20th? If you're having a party at your club/bar/venue, e-mail me—megan@thestranger.com—and let me know. I'm compiling a list of all the day's events to post on Slog in the next week or so.

The Washington Bus is throwing a pre-inauguration celebration on Sunday, the 18th with our friends at Snowboard Connection, Spacecraft Clothing, Upper Playground and Caffe Vita. It's called the Obama Inauguration Bunny Ball, and it's all going down at Havana.

There's going to be live art, giveaways from Sno Con, Spacecraft and the Bus, and a dance party with DJs Sean Cee and Sabzi all night long. Oh yeah, and it's free!

What will I be doing on Jan 20? Hoping I get an interview, and hoping my unemployment doesn't run out. Happy 2009!

Worldchanging.com is hosting a party at the Spitfire. 22 bigscreen TV's, awesome brunch menu, full bar including mimosas and Irish Coffees (cause you now Barry is Irish, right?) and it's all hosted by the spectacular Kerri Harrop.

Oh, and the usual batch of Slog commenters will be somewhere else, so you don't need to worry about them!

And bonus...it's FREE to get in.

Spitfire is at 2219 4th Ave in Belltown. See you there...

Spectacular Kerri the Spammer Harrop.
Way to go Kerri. Insult us AND try to sell drinks to us.
Great plan!

How the hell did it sell out so fast?

I hope Megan gets a bunch of emails with other events that are happening.
