Where Is He?

Posted by on Mon, Jan 5, 2009 at 4:38 PM

What does it mean when a former lover posts an old and totally forgotten photo of you on Facebook?
n1254909232_225472_5929.jpg What is she saying? I do not know who are you, Mr. Mudede, but this is the man I once loved? Where has he gone? What have you done to him, you old, puffy spider? I have no idea what happened to this strange character (20, fading hi-top fade, daydreaming) in the photo. I barely know him; I barely like him.

It means she's digitizing her old photos.

It's not about you.

My brother digitized a few thousand of his old pics and gave them to everyone as presents.

The ability of people you thought long gone from your life to turn up like bad pennies on Facebook trying to "friend" you is one of the creepier aspects of social networking. Posting old pictures of you to their Facebook pages takes it to the next level of Stalky McStalkerson.

I joined facebook a week or so ago, and am still amazed at the people who pop up daily. It's like the worlds largest cocktail party, where anyone from any point in your life could turn up any moment. Creepy and nightmarish on some level, but I'm sort of gleeful about it. It's just so damned friendly.

Judging from the apparent age of this picture, he should be playing clarinet for Jelly Roll Morton.

I applaud you for employing a blind hairstylist Mr. Mudede.

To Grant @ 4: Close, but no...it was:

1989...the number...another summer...

You're welcome,
pg--the nitpicky lyric referencer

PS--Elvis was a hero to most but I bet he never meant shit to Charles.

@11 is absolutely correct. I thought this was a pic from the 1920s, not Mudede's 20s.

"Is you bed made? Is your sweater on? Do you want to fuck? like you know I do-eee-ooo-eee---ooo"

Maybe she posted it because it's an excellent portrait. Maybe is has nothing to with the subject in the image.
