Re: The Lady Vanishes

More speculation about our mysteriously absent governor: The second (and my preferred) theory (after the commerce-secretary theory cited below) is that Gregoire—who is reportedly in D.C.—is going to announce that Washington State is getting a big chunk of Obama's proposed stimulus package, and/or funding to replace the Alaskan Way Viaduct

I hope she is the new choice for Commerce Secretary. Obama can have her: we'll take Brad!!

I doubt Obama would be allocating infrastructure funds before he actually takes office. She might be there to talk about such things, but I think a federal job is more likely. And you KNOW I'm always right! :P

Hate the thought of Mr. Potatohead being governor, though. Ugh.

I agree with 3. How and why would Congress and/or the Obama Admin announce funding for specific infrastructure projects *tomorrow*, and why would Gregoire be the only governor present (or are there others?)?

Gotta be Commerce Sec. And why wouldn't she chomp at the bit to get out of WA? This state is political no-man's land.

Bwaahhahaahahahaaha

Gregoire with a cabinet post?

Bwhaahahaahahaahahahaahahahahha

Seriously yo? Commerce? What exactly does she have for experience for this most important post?

She is incredibly not qualified to be Commerce Secretary. Hell she dribbled the Sonics out of town, pissed the Viaduct down her leg, and squandered our state surplus...

Ohh wait.. she might have perfect credentials.

Nevermind.

I can't imagine Obama would be making promises for federal money before he even takes office. Or that Congress would be appropriating money yet. Unless a major Washington business is going to get some of the original $700 B.
