Is it fair to place Obama in this triangle?

Are those supposed to be bullet holes? Nice. Because you can only win so many admirers launching randomly targeted rockets at towns and villages.

It's cool the downloaded the Obama portrait with the cigarette. Remember that embarrassing Osama/Bert incident? The internets remember.

If only Obama would criticize Israel here. Perhaps he can get Hillary to do it. Unfortunately, with that scary Muslim middle name, the antsy American pro-Israel crowd would eat him alive.

If you can't condemn setting fire to residential buildings with phosphorus bombs, what can you condemn?

fuck

Indonesians do this sort of lampooning all the time, especially of political leaders. This is normal. They use masks, puppets, dancers, pop music, etc. The mild surprise is that Indonesians are including Obama here (not yet our president!); they are, by and large, pro-Obama.

Can't say I'm surprised. It was no accident that the day after Hillary conceded, his first speech was a foreign policy speech proclaiming allegiance to the status quo in American support of Israel. the Obama people have calculated that any change to treat Palestinians as full humans will be a political liability. Since they are already running for his second term I don't foresee any change.

Pretty sick way to attack a giant starved prison camp.

No, it isn't fair, and it's indicative of the inbred hate Palestinians activists have for anything even remotely American.

The Gazans wanted a war, that's why they elected Hamas, and they got a war.

@6 - Yes, but what's your strategy for getting elected to national office in this country by taking a moderate approach to Israel and condemning their military actions from time to time? For the first black president, with a funny name, campaigning amid rumors of secret Muslim ties, criticizing Israel would've gotten us Preznit John McCain/Sarah Palin. I think it was a reasonable tactical decision; I don't see how a moderate on Israel is going to get elected around here anytime soon, no matter how much we might like to see one. I just don't see how it's possible.

Cracked - And why is Gaza a giant starved prison camp? Because the people elected a political party that says it wants to eliminate Israel, won't renounce violence and continues shooting rockets into Israel. Apparently Israel is supposed to ignore that?

We're talking about a world where the PLO are the moderates.

Palestinians never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity. From celebrating 9/11 to insulting Obama the day he was elected, Palestinian political tonedeafness is unbelievable.

I believe the Palestinians deserve their own state free from persecution by the Israelis, but they really are their own worst enemies.

Regardless of how Obama feels, it's not considered good form for the President-elect to criticize the foreign policy of the President while that policy is being carried out. Foreigners (and apparently, some Sloggers) generally don't understand that admittedly weird feature of the presidential (as opposed to parliamentary) system. After all, Bush is still the President.

The Palestinians are no different than the ghetto people here in Seattle that shoot into nightclubs or a even a common pitbull. They are indeed their own worst enemy and need to be treated with a firm hand. Luckily Israel has the resolve to do that. I wish we did here in Seattle.

Ive found in years of mask making that when you match up the eyes of your own head, the one you see with, with the eyes of the mask you are making, it seems to work out pretty well...

OH NO, NOT MASKS.

Americans are incredibly thin-skinned when they're financing the weapons used to kill civilians.

As an Israel-hating, pro-Obama Jew, I'd have to say that this is a little stupid and way early.

Fucking Israel, what a pain in the ass. Of course you know Hitler is Isreal’s God Father, and the Polish Ghettos the inspiration for Gaza. Oh, but what inspired the concentration camps? Native Reservations here in the USA. Of course the bible was one of the main engines for colonizing the Americas, and that was written by the Jews. Karma trumps Grace bitches, and your eternal faith in American Democracy is about to fail. Big Sven, you doughy pin head, how you doing? Boy, you must of blown your wad when Obama tapped Clinton. Fuck you.

"Is it FAIR to place Obama in this triangle?"

whaaaaaaaaaaa!
please
Are we going to have to listen to four years of whining about how the world is unfair to the 'Golden Boy'?
After 8 yrs of crapping on Bush for everything from the polar ice caps to their hemmoroids liberals have to be pretty clueless to utter the 'F' word.

@7, @12, @15 - you'll notice, if you read the damn post, that this photograph was taken in Indonesia, halfway around the world from Gaza. But that would slow down the Palestinian-bashing, eh?

yes. it's fair. I like most of Obama's policies but the chances of him doing anything but toeing the line on the Israeli occupation is slim to none. Sorry but it's just a fact. Criticizing him for his stated position on an issue you disagree with him on is absolutely fair.

And by the way, Palestinians elected Hamas because they were the only party that ever bothered to try to feed people or find them jobs, or at least show up to the funerals. They were much more in touch with the people, all rhetoric about Israel aside. Then, if we can recap, Israel immediately put an embargo and blockade on Gaza because they dared to elect a party Israel did not approve of. And THAT's when things started to get ugly. Fatah spends all their time on camera and kissing international ass, Abbas hasn't even bothered to visit neighboring towns in the West Bank, let alone reached out to Gazans. Furthermore, obviously not all Palestinians agree with either part of their government's actions anymore than every American agrees with all of their government's actions. People often have varying opinions about things, you know? You people have no sense of perspective.

Lol!

Obama ran on a stong PRO-WAR platform. Obama is going to let Israel fire bomb anyone and everyone. As Jews we can be very excited to watch the wars in the Middle escalate under Obama.

I am so happy Obama has hardly unpacked in DC and already Israel and America have started bambing the shit out of the Islamic vermin in Palestine.

It's going to be a great eight years for Israel and Jews in Seattle.

Obama will let Israel kill, kill, kill, because Torah doesn't say "Thou shalt not kill" it says "Thou shalt not murder" Palestinians are like rats, vermin, killing them is justice! Mazel Tov!

@8 "The Gazans wanted a war, that's why they elected Hamas".

No. They elected Hamas because Fatah was corrupt and incompetent at all levels, ineffective at negotiating with the Israelis, and inarticulate at making the Palestinian case to the rest of the world. I'd have had a hard time voting for Hamas, myself, but Fatah absolutely had to go.
