According to the Old Farmer's Almanac...

Posted by Brendan Kiley on Sun, Dec 28, 2008 at 11:02 AM

... today is a good day to:

Begin logging, set posts or pour concrete, start projects, harvest belowground crops.

Dear Brendan Kiley,
Much as we love harvesting underground crops, we miss your original work. Please, more pulchritudinous posts pertaining to the pursuits of playwrights.

John Q. Public's alliterative capabilities notwithstanding, this post is a great reminder to those of us who nearly forgot all about logging this year. Time to get out the whipsaw!

Hot damn! I've been waiting to pour some concrete, and now I have the green light.

I'm sorry, but I don't think we've finished talking about Fugazi.

I just finished listening to Repeater (1990). Then I tried to listening to Nirvana's Bleach (1989).

Admittedly, Bleach predates Repeater, but the level of music in Repeater far and beyond bleach.

To me, Nirvana was a joke band with a bleached blonde front man that made all the girls soon.

Fugazi is a real band that is worth listening to today.

And no, I don't feel like letting it go.

I hate that you are making fun of people who live rural lives. These are all valid activities for people with RURAL LIVES. Please do no ironically mock them or whatever you want to call it. Just. Stop.

Begin setting posts, pouring concrete, and harvesting underground crops in frozen, water-logged soil?

I think the Almanac is the reason there aren't many old farmers, anymore.

This is still a terrible, terrible time to be pouring concrete.

And I say this as someone who works on lots of concrete pours.

Today was also a great day to bang your wife.
