Wasilla Hillbillies

Posted by on Fri, Dec 19, 2008 at 6:46 AM

A 42-year-old Wasilla woman was arrested Thursday at her home by Alaska State Troopers with a search warrant in an undercover drug investigation. Sherry L. Johnston was charged with six felony counts of misconduct involving a controlled substance.

Johnston is the mother of Levi Johnston, the Wasilla 18-year-old who received international attention in September when Gov. Sarah Palin and her husband, Todd, announced their teenage daughter was pregnant and he was the father. Bristol Palin, 18, is due on Saturday, according to a recent interview with the governor's father, Chuck Heath.

Wasilla has become the other capital. Its opposite is Chicago, the current capital of the world.

"We believe that the best of America is not all in Washington, D.C. We believe...that the best of America is in these small towns that we get to visit, and in these wonderful little pockets of what I call the real America, being here with all of you hard working very patriotic, very pro-America areas of this great nation."-Sarah Palin

She must be so proud!!!

Well, the charges seem to indicate that it was either manufacturing or delivery of drugs. Of course, who knows whether that's the case or whether she just had a whole lot of drugs, but still.

I wonder whether this will be a story anywhere but the blogs? I’m sure it would have been during the campaign or if McCain/Palin had won.

One of the funniest parts: The article cited has had the on-line comments section disabled. Gee, I wonder why...

She looks a little rough in her Anchorage Daily News photo, but I'd probably go home with her.

my money's on meth. they don't call it 'manufacturing' when it's pot.

i love this story - of course it's sad, but so fucking irresistible

yeah that pic in the newspaper is pretty scary but it's the first time i've ever seen her. levi is sexxxy. the apple didn't fall so close to the tree that time.

this is too good to be true.

course - all big time Seattle and the cool kids has no meth prob ... that finger pointing is looking right back

this is strange pleasure at a working class mom with some drug fuck ups ... maybe life in prison ... esp. cause her son is a fucking very good looking horn dog stud at almost 20 ... another crime, cause she birthed him ... how how dare he enjoy getting laid at total ease and often without the Seattle hipsters permission ... the story of his teen love life should be a film ...

after all the sexal revolution did never extend to the frontiers of the know world, just north to Lynnwood...

reading this garble silly shit is like a bad cartoon of real people ... Ms. Johnson - get help - end enjoy your great kids ... Sarah CAN get you a good job ...

Uh...Brian,
Remember, this is the town that the Republican party put forward as morally superior and more American than the urban areas... I think we can agree that Wasilla isn't really our model vision of where we want civilization to go.

Yes, I do sort of feel sorry for mom in a weird way and the son. Maybe they never would have busted her if their lives hadn't intersected with the Palins and an expanded range of scrutiny that whirled in around them with the vp nod and the shotgun wedding story.

P.S. Brian, you are right. The Johnstons (sp?) will have access to resources not available to others, if they are together enough to take advantage of them...

Man, which grandmother will that kid be most ashamed of?

I'd have a hard time choosing, but I'd still go for Palin as the winner. For some reason, I doubt grandma #2 could muck up a sentence like Sarah no matter how much meth she was on.

@ 20 "Manufacturing" is indeed used in marijuana charges on occasion. Not sure what is on the books in Alaska. I am betting on Pot.

They do grow good weed in small towns, right?
