Liveblogging The Godfather & The Godfather Part 2

Posted by on Fri, Dec 19, 2008 at 3:06 PM

Tune in to Slog tomorrow from noon until the evening. I will be liveblogging The Godfather and The Godfather Part II from the projection booth at SIFF Cinema.

Obviously, it cannot possibly be as good and entertaining as Charles Mudede on the 7-hour film version of War and Peace, but I hope you will stop by and visit. We will be up to our necks in Puzo. See you at noon.

I used to love the first two Godfather films, but between A&E and AMC, you would think no other movies were made. They are on TV all the time. Still, your thing sounds fun. Sorry I'm going to miss it.

Didn't I see those films in town, oh not so long ago on the largest screen I could ever imagine? They played the Cinerama very very recently. Even the mighty SIFF screen couldn't beat that experience.

The Godfather, Part III doesn't exist. Actually, let's just pretend that the last movie he made was Apocalypse Now.

Two of the most overrated movies of the 1970's.

Oh look at that juxtaposition they are baptizing the baby while people get shot. Yawn.

Mudede's liveslog of War and Peace was epic. The last hour was particularly choice.

Live-blogging the Godfathers is tantamount to blogging Will of Seattle sniffing his fingers. Is there nothing so sacred that would prevent you from loudly blowing your nose or farting or belching during its showing? Do not further subtract from the sum of human intelligence by entitling us to your opinion. We already have one - it is unlikely to change. Stay home, Lucky! With your whore's head.

Thanks for the reminder, Paul ...sounds like a fun gig in the projection booth.

I can't wait to see both Godfathers at SIFF, an incredible theater. Even though I have the new Godfather blu-ray set -- which is awesome -- *nothing* will rival seeing the stunning restored versions on the huge screen.

For anyone who hasn't been to SIFF Cinema but loves a great moviegoing experience, don't miss this one.
