That is the motto of a friend of mine.

This is the solution to the problem of eating pomegranates.

Genius! Every year, it takes me 1,000 years to pick out the seeds. Thank you for posting.

What's with everyone and pomegranates? They're not good.

I find it simple and rapid enough to just cut them in half and tear the seeds out without wasting a bowl of water and getting a strainer dirty.

dunk and spank them

Pomegranates are to the eyes what durians are to the nose.

There are, however, very seldom techological solutions to behavioral issues.

Oh what a great idea! We have a refrigerator full of pomegranates thanks to the tree in our back yard. :-D I've been wondering if there were a better way to get those seeds out.

(And Stuff - I love durian too!)

Pomegranates are awesome. They used to be a favorite when I was a kid- they're a great way to occupy children. They take forever to finish and the kids get to rip things open and spit seeds.

Pomegranates are to the eyes what durians are to the nose.

My co-worker eats durians sometimes and the odor wafts over the cubicle wall and terrorizes me. Smells like sewage.

I love durian. =) I'm not allowed to have it in the house though. I love pomegranates too, but I usually don't bother with them. I'll have to give them another shot.

Oh, and I eat the seeds, but I don't chew them - kind of like grapes with pips. If you chew them you get an odd flavor.

This was on Good Eats something like 2 years ago. It's a great solution.

My Mom used to make pomegranate jelly--best in the world, except maybe for cranberry jam. Anyway, she'd just cut them in half and squeeze them in the orange juicer (the old fashioned kind with the handle). While she was doing that, we'd eat them over sheets of newspaper. Wonderfully messy. Chewing the seeds can get kind of bitter. Like original Coke.

The best way to eat a pomegranate is:

to smash a bunch of ripe ones on the ground then pick up the seeds.

PERFECT. Thank you. The last time I got a pomegranate, I stained the grout on my countertop. (Not as bad as beets, but still.)
